The Network Systems Laboratory(NSL), led by Prof. Song Chong,
was established in March 2000 as part of Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Our research position is to develop fundamental design concepts and methodologies for wireless networks and high speed networks. Prof. Chong is a leading expert in the area with more than 15 year experience in both industry (AT&T Bell Labs, Holmdel) and academia (The Univ. of Texas at Austin, Sogang Univ. and KAIST). Other members of our lab., currently consisting of 7 Ph.D and 2 Master students, are also highly qualified individuals who were selected among the best engineering students in Korea.

Our current research focus on :
- Control & optimization of communication networks
- Radio resource management
- Cross-layer resource allocation
- Testbed & measurement for WMNs
- MAC/Routing/Transport for WMNs
- Mobility model for MANET
